2017 GISA Annual Conference – Atlanta
Monday, November 6, 2017
KEYNOTE SPEAKER #1:
SIR KEN ROBINSON
Presenter of #1 Most Viewed TED Talk in History, Internationally Acclaimed Expert on Creativity and Innovation and Author, Creative Schools.
An internationally recognized authority in creativity and innovation in education and business, Sir Ken Robinson is also one of the world’s leading speakers. Videos of his famous talks to the prestigious TED Conference are the most viewed in the history of the organization and have been seen by an estimated 300 million people in over 150 countries.
A former professor of education, Robinson knows how the academic and organizational culture of education can stifle creativity and fundamentally disregard people’s natural talents and passions. The resulting disengagement represents an enormous opportunity lost. Robinson urges leaders, managers and educators to upend the status quo and launch a creative revolution to reap the rewards. His book The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything (Penguin/Viking, 2009) is a New York Times best seller and has been translated into 21 languages. Finding Your Element: How to Discover Your Talents and Passions and Transform Your Life (Viking, 2013) is also a New York Times best seller and the long-awaited companion Finding Your Element, which provides readers with a practical guide to finding—and developing—talent and skills. His latest book, Creative Schools: The Grassroots Revolution That’s Transforming Education (Viking, 2015), written with Robinson’s trademark wit and engaging style, tackles the critical issue of how to transform the world’s troubled educational systems.

His two sons who are elite mountain guides and their expeditions together often find their way into his presentations illustrating the power of risk, focus, adaptability and toughness! He is a talented storyteller and delivers every keynote with the warmth, fun and intensity that brought him success as an educator and as an athlete.

John Rosemond is the nation’s leading parenting expert and provides common-sense advice for raising your children. John is a nationally syndicated columnist, author and public speaker, (delivering over 200 presentations annually to parents, teachers and professional groups). His audiences are left feeling empowered, educated and entertained.
A family psychologist by license, John points out to all his audiences that “psychology has caused more problems than it has solved for American parents.” John’s mission is to be a counter-weight to the psychological parenting paradigm that was sold to America in the late 1960s/early 1970s, restore commonsense to the raising of children, and give parents the guidance needed to raise happy, well-mannered children who will, as adults, contribute value to culture and society.
